I offer salt bath nitride finishing services on pistols. This type of finish has several advantages over other finishes on the market. The biggest advantage is that it is a treatment that gets into the metal. It is not a surface coating. The treatment offers corrosion protection, reduced wear of moving parts, and added lubricity. The treatment works on carbon and stainless steel. The end result is a dark satin black finish that is highly resistant to wear. All gunsmithing should be completed before having your pistol refinished. A pistol can be rebuilt after being finished, but it will be labor intensive. The treatment surface hardens the top several thousandths of the metal. The average cost is $175 plus return shipping. P7’s cost a little more. Return customers get a discount.
