My name is Drake Oldham. I have been interested in firearms for most of my life. I have been shooting 1911 style pistols and precision rifles for as long as I can remember. I consider myself fortunate to have a supportive family and an employer that has allowed me to pursue my interests. I have been working for a midsize police department since 1997. My assignments have included Patrol, Special Response Team Sniper, and the Training Unit where I am currently. I have received training in the repair and maintenance of S&W pistols, Glock pistols, and 1911 style pistols. I have received additional training in tactics, firearms, ASP baton, Taser, etc. The concept of Drake’s Gun Works started in 2006. I have always been a fan of the Browning Hi-Power and the 1911. Why not build my own? I spoke to professional gunsmiths, a few military armorers, and attended a 1911 armorers course. A nice TRP Operator got traded for a mil-spec and some parts. The first pistol turned out very nice. I built several more with the assistance and support of my coworkers. This helped me to determine which brands of parts I preferred to work with. The feedback has been great. My goal is to provide a quality pistol at a price that a working cop can afford. I will do whatever I can to repair Duty and Carry pistols immediately. I want my customers to be happy with the service that they receive. I will stand behind the work that I do. I will tune up an existing pistol, or help you choose the parts for custom build.
